GEA 2H was contracted to supply and install GEOdek™ stormwater management modules for a stormwater attenuation system at Redcar college in the North East of England.

Extension and improvement works at the college involved the building of a new gymnasium, which in turn required the provision of extra parking facilities. The increased footprint of the build meant a system to attenuate run off water was required, particularly in the event of heavy storms.

GEOdek™ is BBA accredited and avaliable in a range of types to suit different requirements including installation depths, the number of layers and traffic levels on the area above. GEA 2H advised GEOdek™ type C to meet the depth requirements of the installation and withstand the vehicular traffic in the car park on the area above the system.

GEOdek™ modules helped to reduce installation times and costs, requiring only a basic civil engineering plant and as few as two groundworkers.
