Bardon Superbase is a an asphaltic concrete 14mm dense binder course mixture. It has been specifically designed to fill a gap in the range of binder course materials described in UK asphalt standards.
The omission of a dedicated AC14 binder course in UK standards often leads to inappropriate use of BS EN standard binder course mixtures, such as AC20 dense binder, particularly when laid in relatively thin layers.
Superbase can be laid down to 40mm thick and still provide a very dense, impermeable and durable binder course layer, while still maintaining high levels of resistance to permanent deformation.
This makes it suitable for high and low levels of traffic on motorways, trunk roads, LA highway networks and commercial/industrial areas.
Features
• Equivalent stiffness modulus to conventional HDM50 or HMB35 for Superbase grades 50 and 35 respectively
• Relatively rich binder contents and low in situ void contents; designed to be 6% or less rendering them impermeable
• Uniform mat with low risk of segregation
Bardon Asphalt is an Aggregate Industries business, and all products are manufactured in accordance with ISO 9001 with factory compliance to ISO 14001.
