Resin bound surface dressings

Resin bound surface dressings are a combination of light-stable epoxy resin and aggregates that form a clear macadam surface course.

They are suitable for footways, lightly trafficked carriageways, driveways, pedestrian areas and sustainable urban drainage schemes (SUDS).

By combining aggregate colours and sizes designers can create a large variety off colours and textures. Patterns and logos are also possible.

As with bitumen macadams, specifiers should allow a laying depth of 3 times the aggregate size, e.g. 6mm aggregates should be laid to a minimum 18mm depth. The laying temperature should exceed 5°C in dry conditions.

Suitable substrates include bitmacs, asphalts, or concrete.
