Gf01 is a design detail for below-slab floor insulation for large buildings, using Knauf Insulation Polyfoam Floorboard.
Polyfoam Floorboard is an ultra-strong extruded polystyrene insulation that is installed below a floor slab. The material is 100% ozone friendly.
It is a rigid board that is lightweight and has excellent structural strength and long term durability.
It is laid onto sand blinding with a damp-proof membrane over the
insulation, and is lapped with the wall DPC.
Alternatively, Polyfoam Floorboard can be laid over the DPM in a staggered pattern to cover the whole floor area. The joints should be tightly butted.
A slip layer is required between the insulation and the concrete slab. The concrete slab may be screeded or alternatively have a power float finish.
Polyfoam Floorboard is available in three grades:
Standard - for domestic and light commercial loading (0.029W/mK).
Extra - for commercial, industrial flooring and cold storage (0.029-0.034W/mK).
Super - for very high load commercial, industrial and cold storage floors (0.034-0.036W/mK).
