Colin Bland heads up dedicated renewables team for domestic and commercial markets.
Telford, UK – Viessmann, a leading international manufacturer of heating systems, has appointed Colin Bland to the new position of sales manager for renewable energy systems. Bland heads a team of six area business managers covering the entire UK, which is tasked with growing the company’s renewable energy business.
Colin Bland joined Viessmann in July 2011 from First Merchant Plumbing & Heating, bringing 30 years experience in the plumbing and heating industry. He reports to Nigel Jefferson, sales director, commercial and renewable products.
“With a product range encompassing all fuel types and domestic and commercial applications, Viessmann is in a very strong position to take advantage of increasing customer awareness in, and the affordability of, renewable technology – as well as anticipated government incentives such as the domestic RHI,” says Graham Russell, managing director.
Adds Colin Bland: “Following the maelstrom that was the solar PV market at the end of 2011, it is important that all the other renewable technologies and their advantages are promoted to ensure a long term stable renewable market sector.
“With Viessmann's experience and product range, it puts us in an ideal position to grow our business whilst ensuring our customers have the most efficient and effective solution for their individual requirements.”
Viessmann’s product line-up ranges from traditional oil and gas-fired boilers to renewable solar thermal and photovoltaic systems, combined heat and power modules (CHP), ground, air and water sourced heat pumps and biomass boilers. The company has been manufacturing renewable heating systems for almost 40 years and sells 500,000 m2 of solar collectors globally per year.
