Gravels and aggregates, such as granite, marble and slate, give an attractive and hardwearing finish to most landscape surfaces, including footpaths and cyclepaths, driveways and car parks.
Unlike regular gravels, self-binding gravel contains large amounts of fine aggregates or dust. This results in a surface that is less prone to becoming displaced or being scuffed, but is not completely hard. This type of surface is well suited to areas that are subject to heavy-traffic or where a long-lasting surface is required.
Gravel can also be used to define plant bed borders or create a maintenance-free garden using drought-resistant plants. Aggregates can also help to improve drainage in the winter, and maintain moisture content in the summer.
Aggregates suitable for sports surfaces, such as running tracks, football and hockey pitches, and tennis courts, are also available.
