Geogrids are extruded, woven or bonded geosynthetics designed for ground reinforcement. Layers of asphalt, sub-grade and sub-base interlock and bond through a geogrid’s apertures.
On roads, geogrids reinforce asphalt surfacing, strengthening carriageway construction and preventing cracking on highways. They protect roads against stress, permanent strain and changing weather and temperature while sealing them and minimising the thickness of the paved surface.
On pavements, geogrids support and enhance bound surfacing materials, extending their life and preventing rutting, fracturing and potholes.
On car parks, they can be used for reinforcing bitumen or for easy installation on greenfield sites, on which they are laid along with grass / gravel pavers and meshes.
On embankments, geogrids provide soil stabilisation and slope reinforcement, and can be used in conjunction with reinforced earth walls.
On railways, they reinforce ballast and provide more stable track foundations for high-speed transport.
