Kerbs are used to edge paving, delineate paved areas and provide drainage channels on streets, driveways and other hard landscaping schemes.
Textured / stone kerbs have architecturally sensitive designs and finishes. Natural stone and reconstituted stone aggregates are used to make kerbs suitable for conservation areas in historic town centres as well as private houses.
Block paving kerbstones are small paving elements specially made to restrain block pavers and setts, and to co-ordinate with their designs.
High containment kerbs are installed alongside busy roads, on roundabouts and around industrial areas to provide roadside protection against HGVs and other large vehicles.
Passenger access kerbs are typically used at bus stops and other terminals to provide level entry onto public transport.
British Standard kerbs are general-purpose products made to conform to EN 1340, the European Standard that ‘specifies materials, properties, requirements and test methods for unreinforced, cement bound precast concrete kerb units’.
Special products are also available for combined drainage, garden edging and sports track edging.
