Kitchen / bathroom fans provide extraction and ventilation of damp, humid air. They are typically used in domestic properties or shared accommodation such as student residences.

Extract fans usually have a centrifugal or axial design, and are wall or ceiling mounted. They can be connected to extract ductwork, are mounted in a window, or extract straight through a wall to the exterior.

Humidity sensors can provide sophisticated control, activating the fan when a certain moisture level is reached. Alternatively, activation can be linked to a bathroom light switch or an appliance such as a shower or oven.
